Acclimating to college life is not easy for many freshmen. Going away to study is often the first time most of these young students have lived anyplace other than their parent’s home. University students come from all walks of life and socializing with people who have different backgrounds than your own can often be challenging. Fitting in and feeling at home on a college campus can take time.
One of the best ways to settle in on a college campus is to join a fraternity or sorority. Chi Omega is one of the oldest women’s fraternities in the US. In this particular chapter, members partake in a wide range of activities together and are there to support each other when times get rough. They women go to parties together, help each other to study and they may live together if they wish in a sorority house.
If you are interested in joining Chi Omega or another Greek organization such as Gamma Phi Beta, then plan to take part in ‘rush week’ which is usually held at the beginning of the school year. During this week you can explore the different chapters and decide which best suits your personality and then ask to become a member. Almost every average-sized college has dozens of fraternities and sororities from which to choose.
